Deborah Carr
I attended Pernell Public Schools from kindergarten until I graduated as Salutatorian in 1988.
I attended college in Durant and graduated from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in 1992.
I attended master’s classes in Ada and graduated from East Central University in 2002.
My degree is in Elementary Education with an endorsement in Middle School Math.
I have my Master’s Degree as a Reading Specialist.
I am certified in Early Childhood.
I have attended DIBELS training.
I am a trainer for LETRS.
I have attended Core Knowledge training.
I began teaching at Konawa in 2014. This will be my 4th year teaching. I’ve taught 3 years in 1st grade and will be teaching 3rd grade this year.
I began my teaching career at Moyers, teaching 6th – 9th grade math, 7th & 8th grade science, and remedial math. I taught 11 years at Macomb, teaching 1st grade, 2nd grade, and was a Reading Coach. I worked 2 years with the Oklahoma State Department as an Intructional Coach. This is my 4th year to be at Konawa.
I got married October 16, 1999, to Theron Carr. Theron has grown up in Ada.
We have one son who is 10 years old and going into the 5th grade at Homer Elementary.
We have a chocolate Labrador Retriever named Molly who is 5 years old.
I really enjoy doing things like camping with my family and Geocaching.
I love making quilts, knitting, and doing online scrapbooks.
My favorite colors are green and purple.
My favorite things to eat are fried catfish and hamburgers.
I collect stamps, pencils, and hinged trinket boxes.
