Principal

Larry Marlow is our Middle School Principal, Athletic Director, and an assistant football coach. You can reach Mr. Marlow at 580-925-3222, extension 237.

Larry is a 1970 graduate from Tuttle. In 1974 he earned Bachelor of Science Education degree from East Central State University in Ada where he majored in Language Arts, Speech, Health and Physical Education. He also earned a Masters of Education in 1977, majoring in Education and Administration. His first year to teach at Konawa was 1974. He has numerous awards and honors. This is Larry's 31st year in public education.

Secretary

Claudia Sharber is our Middle School secretary. She can be reached at 580-925-3222, extension 236.

A 1996 graduate of Konawa School, Claudia attended East Central University and has been working at Konawa Schools since 1983. She also has eight grandchildren.

Teaching Staff

Tina Benge teaches eighth grade English and seventh grade reading. She is the President of the Konawa Education Association, the local affilitate of the Oklahoma Education Association.

Tina's first year to teach at Konawa was 2000. She is a 1974 graduate of Great Bend Public School in Great Bend, Kansas. Her Bachelor of Arts degree was earned from East Central State University where she majored in English. Tina also earned a Master of Arts degree, majoring in Education, from ECU. She taught at Coalgate Public School prior to joining the Konawa faculty.

Brent Daniel teaches middle school Physical Education and Sociology. He also an assistant football coach.

Brent graduated from Newcastle High School in 1980. He has a bachelor's degree in Science Education from Central State University. He came to teach at Konawa Public School in the year 2002. Before coming to Konawa, Brent taught at Westmoore High School in Moore, Oklahoma, for five years and at Kingston Public School for eight years.

Karla Davis is the Liberian of the Kennedy Library of Konawa and teaches sixth grade Library Skills. You can reach Karla by calling 580-925-3662.

Karla is a 1992 graduate of Konawa High School. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from East Central State University, majoring in Mathematics. She later received a master's degree in Education. Her first year to teach at Konawa was 2000. She taught at Wewoka and Sulphur Public Schools prior to Konawa Public School. Karla is a National Board certified teacher.

Emily Fixico teaches Sixth and Seventh Grade Science. She is also a certified public accountant.

Emily is a 1980 graduate from Konawa High School. She has a bachelor's degree in Science from East Central Oklahoma State University, where her major was in Accounting. She later earned a master's degree in education. Her first year to teach at Konawa Public School was 1996.

Don Gallagher teaches middle school Physical Education, but spends most of his day in the High School teaching Oklahoma History, coaching the girls Track and Cross Country, and advising the yearbook class. He previously worked at the Konawa Leader and still is a avid photographer.

Mr. Gallagher is a 1964 graduate of Konawa High School. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from East Central State University, majoring in History. He has been teaching at Konawa in 1976 and can be heard announcing at nearly every home basketball or football game.

Gordon Garner is in charge of middle school physical education classes. He also teaches humanities in the high school and is the head basketball coach for both boys and girls. You can reach him by calling 580-925-3244, extension 230 for the boys gym office or extension 233 for the girls side.

Coach Garner graduated from Konawa High School in 1982. His Bachelor of Science degree, with a major in physical education and a history minor, was earned from East Central University in 1987. Gordon's first year to teach at Konawa was 2004-2005. His prior teaching experiences were at Ryan, Okeene, and Depew. His awards and honors include: All State Girls' Coach 2002, All State Boys' Coach 1999, coaching in seven state tournaments, boys' state champions in 2004, girls' state runner-up in 2004, and he was Teacher of the Year at Okeene and Depew.

Mary Johnson teaches sixth grade Humanities.

Mary graduated from Lawton High School in 1967. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in Art and English. She has been teaching Konawa since 1990. Before coming to Konawa, Mary taught Lawton's Tomlinson Junior High School and Sasakwa Public Schools.

Donny is a graduate of Ringling High School. He has earned a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in Music Education, and a Master of Arts in Music Education. His first year to teach at Konawa was 1995. Prior to coming to Konawa, Donny directed at Shawnee and Hennessey Public Schools.

Tesa Madron teaches sixth grade English and sixth grade mathematics.

Tesa is a 1989 graduate of Ada High School. In 1995 she earned a bachelor's degree, majoring in Elementary Education with endorsements, from East Central State University. 2004 was Tesa's first year to teach at Konawa. Before taking the classroom assignment she was a tutor in Konawa's Johnson-O'Malley program.

Margaret Mocabee teaches an alternative education classes.

A graduate of Dale High School in 1985, she received a bachelor of arts degree in 2004, majoring in special education, from East Central University. She teaching here at Konawa, as the Seminole County Coop HS/MS Special Education Teacher in 2004.

Kathy Niles teaches sixth and seventh grade Social Studies and seventh grade Humanities. Most of her career in Konawa has been as an elementary teacher.

A 1967 graduate of Perkins Public School, Kathy has a bachelor of science degree in Elementary Education. Her first year to teach at Konawa Public School was 1984, but she has also been on the faculty of Bowlegs and St. Louis Public Schools.

Patti Palmer teaches Seventh Grade English and Eighth Grade Reading.

Patti is a 1985 graduate of Konawa High School. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from East Central State University, majoring in English. She has a master's degree, majoring in Elementary Education and Administration, also from East Central State University. Patti holds an Oklahoma Principal's Certificate and is also an adjunct professor at ECU, teaching Freshman Composition. Her first year to teach at Konawa was 1996. Before joining the Konawa Public School faculty, she taught Bowlegs and Strother Public Schools.

Luke Penrod teaches 8th and 9th grade science and is an assistant football coach.

A graduate of Ada High School in 1975, he received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1992. In 2004 Luke received his Master's Degree in School Administration. He began his teaching career in Coalgate, Stratford, and Asher schools. In 2006 he began teaching at Konawa and his extra duty assignments include the 2007 Senior class sponsorship and the Safe Schools Committee.

Terry Shamley teaches eighth grade Social Studies and physical education. He is the head coach for middle school and high school football and assistant boys' track coach. Over the summer he is Konawa's Driver's Education instructor.

Terry graduated from Pauls Vally Public School in 1972 and holds a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in History and Physical Education. His first year to teach at Konawa was 2001. Before coming to Konawa, Terry taught at Chandler, Ringling Cashion, and Pauls Vally Public Schools.

Tim Reeder teaches middle school math and is the assistant high school football and junior high baseball coach.

He received his high school diploma from Savanna High School in 1999. In 2005, Tim earned his Bachelor of Science Education degree, majoring in HPER/Teacher Certification from East Central Univerity. His career in Konawa began in 2006. Before coming to Konawa, Tim taught at Hennessey Public School.

Sean Walker teaches seventh and eighth grade girls' physical education and is an assistant high school coach.

Sean is a 1984 graduate from Konawa High School. In 1989, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Education, majoring in physical education and minoring in education, from East Central State Univeristy. He earned a Master of Education degree in 2004, majoring in education, from ECU and also holds a Oklahoma Principal's Certificate. Sean's previous teaching assignments were at Holdenville, Wanette, and Sasakwa Public Schools.

Shana Wood teaches eighth grade Life Skills and Foundation For Living I. She is also the FCCLA Advisor. Her phone number is 580-925-3221, extension 235.

A 1993 graduate from Byng High School, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Vocational Family and Consumer Education, from East Central State University. Her first year to teach at Konawa was 2004. Before coming to Konawa, Shana taught at Bowlegs, Maysville, and Stratford Public Schools. She was elected Maysville's Favorite Teacher two years in a row.
