The Konawa Tiger Football Field is located west of the old school campus. The old-timers all tell us that the field is older than they are, but we have learned a little about it's history.

Several sources indicate that the football field was built upon the site of a ditch or creekbed that had been used as a dumping ground. In fact, they tell us that there are old car bodies and similar items buried under the present field. This is also apparent by examining the topography of the land south of (and across the street from) the field.

By 1976 it was time for a renovation for Tiger Field. Wayne Smith and Larry Marlow tell us that somewhere on the order of one hundred loads of soil were spread on the field as it was extensively landscaped. The shape of the hill beyond the north endzone was established at this time.
