Principal's Message
Konawa Public School is located in Konawa, Oklahoma, a rural community in east central Oklahoma. Located in the heart of the Seminole Nation (formerly Indian Territory), the population of the community is approximately 1,750. The Konawa School District is composed of 166 square miles and serves about 800 students in grades K-12. All grades are located on one campus, with central administration under one Board of Education. The campus is very modern and up to date with the oldest building built in 1972, and latest addition in 1993. Konawa Public Schools graduated their first class of Seniors in 1910, this year's Seniors will be the 87th graduating class. Konawa is not only known for its school facilities, but also for the success of the school district's programs have achieved. The Konawa Band has always been rated at the top of their class and the athletic teams have participated numerous times in the State Tournament in every sport offered. Our FFA chapter has been awarded the national Gold Emblem, and the Ag. Mechanics class has been state champions several times. The drill team known as the "T-Steppers" have been State Champions the last seven years. Overall we are very proud of the accomplishments of students academically and extra-curricular.
