Konawa Freshman Takes 2nd Place in Greenhorn Throwndown

Konawa High School freshman, Tapanga Morgan, recently won 2nd Place in the Greenhorn Throwdown in Arlington, Texas Saturday, November 5th. The Strongman Competition is one of many held across the nation, with the top three winners qualifying for Nationals in Las Vegas.

Events in which Tapanga participated include Yoke Walk (205 lbs. ), Max Log Press (115 and 125 lbs.), Farmer’s Walk (170 lbs.), Wagon Wheel Axle Deadlift for Reps (205 lbs.), and the Sandbag/Keg Medley (120 and 100 lbs.).
Many of the participants train for years; however, Tapanga trained for this event for only six months with her trainer, Cole Booth, from Stratford. Her training involved one hour a day, six days a week.
