Local Events of Konawa

The All Night Singing
The All Night Singing is held the second Saturday in August. Organizer is Quenion Sharber. It is held at Veteran's Memorial Park.
Band Day
Band Day is held the first Saturday in October. For next school year, band day will be on October 1st, 2005. Konawa Band Director Donny Longest is the organizer of this event.

The Historical Sites of Konawa

Armory
The National Guard Armory has been on the National Historical Record for several years. The Armory is located across from the Konawa City Park.
Sacred Heart Mission
Located approximately five miles west of Konawa, the Sacred Heart Mission was founded in 1876 by Father Isadore Robot, Order of St. Benedict, on Potawatomi Indian lands. St. Benedict's College was there as was St. Mary's Covent, noted in education of Indian girls from prominent, wealthy families of Indian Territory.
