First Day of School

Students report back to school on Thursday, August 11th. You can find supply lists for elementary and middle school online and at local stores. We look forward to seeing students return and have an exciting school year planned.

New teachers report for duty on Thursday, August 4th, and all faculty members will be attending professional development meetings on Monday, August 8th, thru Wednesday, August 10th. Monday will be a combined meeting of area schools including Konawa, Justice, Macomb, Maud, Asher, Wanette, Bowlegs, Wewoka and Varnum. The keynote speaker will be John Perricone in the Performing Arts Center. His keynote address is titled, “Why I Am A Teacher”. Other speakers include J. Guymon from the Professional Oklahoma Educators and Kim Collier from Collier Education Cunsulting. Ms. Collier will speak on “Using Differentiated Instruction in the Classroom.”

At 4:30 PM on Monday, August 8th, a community spaghetti dinner will be provided in the Multi-Purpose Gym by the Konawa Cafeteria Staff, the Ministerial Alliance, and the Konawa High School Cheerleaders. All staff, parents and patrons are welcome to attend. 

Open House for the 2016-2017 school year will be from 6 to 8 PM on the evening of Monday, August 8th. It will be a very busy day welcoming everyone back to school.

Other events for teachers on Tuesday and Wednesday, August 9th and 10th will include training for this new web site and training for Google Apps for Education, CPR and Diabetes Managment Training, Blood Borne Pathogens, Pandemic, Recognition and Reporting of Child Abuse and Neglect, Emergency Procedures, and an Update on the Wellness Policy.
